Your Daily Nutritional Needs
Water
The human body is 70% water. Water transports nutrients to the cells and waste products away from the cells. It is necessary for digestion, circulation, excretion of waste products, absorption and utilization of water-soluable vitamins and the maintenance of body temperature.
Drink at least 8 to 9 - 8 ounce glassses of water per day, more when its hot and when working-out. Do not include liquid intake such as coffee, tea, or juices as part of your daily water intake (these are to be considered as foods).
Protein
Protein are the basic building blocks of life and essential for the growth and development of the body.
Protein provides the body with energy and is required for the manufacturing of hormones, antibodies, enzymes, and tissue. Protein is necessary to maintain proper acid-alkali balance in the body.
All proteins are built from amino acids. There are two types of amino acids. They are essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids. Essential amino acids cannot be synthesized by the body and therefore they must be obtained from the diet. Non-essential amino acids can be synthesized by the body using amino acids already available to it. the name does not mean that they are not necessary; its just that the body can produce these from the amino acids it already has. To learn more about amino acids and their benefits to your body,

The amino acids that are key to muscular growth are arginine, ornithine, glutamine, taurine, and the Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA - Valine, Leucine, and Isoleucine)
Proteins can also be described as complete proteins or incomplete proteins.
Complete proteins contain ample amounts of the essential amino acids - meat, fish, poultry, eggs, milk, whey protein (concentrate, isolate, & blended). Incomplete proteins contain only some of the essential amino acids - grains, legumes, leafy greens vegetables. Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates supply the body with energy that it needs to function. They are found almost exclusively in plant foods - fruit, vegetables, peas, beans (milk also contains significant amounts of carbohydrates).
Carbohydrates are described as simple carbohydrated and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates - simple sugars ie. fructose (fruit sugar), sucrose (table sugar), lactose (milk sugar). Complex carbohydrates - sugar molecules strung together in more complex chains ie. those found in starches and fiber - vegetables, whole grains, beans and peas. Choose to eat more complex carbohydrates as this will supply the body with a steady source of energy, avoiding the energy spikes that simple carbs provide the body.
Carbohydrates are the main source of blood glucose which fuels all the body's cells. They are the only energy source for the brain and red blood cells.
Glucose is either utilized right away or is stored in the liver.
Too much carbohydrate in a diet will result in gaining weight (fat) when consumption outstrips use.
When choosing carbohydrates for your diet choose unrefined foods such as fruits, vegetables, peas, beans, whole grain products; avoid processed foods, candy, cakes, pop, snack foods, etc. Avoid refined and/or processed foods that contain little to no nutritional value and are high in fats.

Fiber
Fiber is an important form of carbohydrate. Dietary fiber is the part of the plant that is resistant to the body's digestive enzymes.
Important benefits derived from fiber are (a) prevents constipation and hemorrhoids,(b)reduces the risk of colon cancer,(c) speeding up the elimination rate at which stool passess through the intestine, keeping the digestive track clean (d) higher fiber diets help lower blood cholesterol levels reducing the risk of heart disease. Allow for a minimum of 25 grams of fiber per day.
Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamins and mineral are essential for life. They are rquired in relatively small amounts - called micronutrients.
RDA Recommended Daily Alowances are suggested to maintain boderline health, not maximum health.
Vitamins are water soluable (transported and washed out of your system rather readily within hours of taking them - example Vitamin C) and fat soluable (vitamin E)
Use high quality and natural (not synthetic) supplements from a reputable source. Lower prices may mean lower quality and unbargained for fillers and undesireable ingredients in the product.
Phytochemicals
Phytochemicals are active substances in plants that are responsible for giving them their color, flavour, and natural disease resistance. They are available in all plants and do not break down with cooking.
Phytochemicals aid in the removal of toxins and free radicals, blocking the harmful effects from environmental pollution. They also interfer with any disease causing toxins at the cellular level - wisking away the poisons before they can do damage.
Include a healthy dose of fruit, vegetables, legumes and grains at every meal and you will gain the benefits of these phytochemicals that will fight on your behalf.
Essential Fatty Acids
Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) provide energy, support growth and are the most concentrated source of energy available to the body.
After two years of age little fat is required by the body, but fats are essential and necessary to a healthy body, though in limited amounts and the right kind of fat.
Fats are composed of building blocks called fatty acids. The three major categories of fatty acids are saturated, polysaturated, and monosaturated.
Saturated fatty acids - from animal products, whole milk, cream, cheese, beef, veal, lamb, pork and ham. The liver uses saturates to create chloesterol - increase low density lipoproteins (LDL) bad cholesterol.
Polyunsaturated fatty acids - corn, soybean, safflower and sunflower oils, some fish also contain polyunstaturated fatty acids. It may actually lower total blood cholesterol, too much will lower your HDL - high density lipoprotein - good cholesterol.
Monosaturated fatty acids - vegetable and nut oils such as olive oil, peanut oil, and canola oil. It appears to reduce blood level of LDL (bad) cholesterol without affecting HDL (good) cholesterol.
Fatty acid intake should not exceed 10-15% caloric intake.
BEWARE of Trans-fatty acids - these occur when polysaturated oils are altered through the process of hydrogenation - to make oils hard ie. margerine and vegetable shortening. Trans-fats appear to increase LDL (bad cholesterol) and reduce HDL (good cholesterol).

Use BioTest Surge as part of your Post-workout Bodybuilding and Sports Nutiritional Supplementation Routine
Anabolic/Anti-Catabolic Formula Biotest Surge is designed to switch on anabolism and halt catabolism when it's absolutely most important — post workout.
The formula stimulates a hormonal (primarily insulin) surge that drives high concentrations of certain nutrients, supplied by the drink, deep into the muscle cell. And if you're successful at achieving this cascade effect, you'll quash catabolism and stimulate anabolism, big time! In fact, it's estimated that you can speed up your body's ability to recover and build muscle by a minimum of one full day, which can make the difference between being the typical hard-gainer and at least a good-gainer. In reality, there're probably very few true hard-gainers.
In fact, if you took everyone who's having a hard time making progress and just got them to consume ample amounts of the right mix of nutrients post workout, the vast majority would make consistent, continual muscle-mass gains. Really, it's that simple — and that hard. The hard part of effective post-workout nutrition is determining the right blend of nutrients in the ideal ratios. Well, we've done the research and testing, taking the guesswork out of the equation.

QUICKMASS has been scientifically formulated for the hard gainer and serious athelete seeking rapid gains in lean body mass. One serving provides 1010 calories of 56 g of OCTA-PRO proein, 7.8 g of Glutamine, 5 g of Fibresol-2, zero trans-fats and a revolutionary Calorie Activation Technology called N5P.
