When I started Reflex Nutrition in 1996 I did so with one aim and one aim only; produce the best of the best, driven by an emotive desire for perfection.
Reflex Nutrition’s first protein supplement was a hydrolysed whey protein isolate, it didn’t taste great but it did something that other proteins on the market failed to do. At that time it delivered extraordinarily high levels of easily absorbable whey protein, tri & di whey peptides and free form amino acids. Needless to say any athlete who could get on with the taste experienced significant benefits. That was nearly 20 years ago and there are now hundreds of supplement companies out there, most of which still have not produced a protein powder that I feel comes close to what we first produced back in 1996. That special hydrolysed whey still lives on in Reflex Growth Matrix by the way.
As many will know at Reflex Nutrition we manufacture our own whey protein powders, pre-workout supplements, weight gainers etc. in our new state of the art manufacturing site here in the U.K, nearly all other brands have their products contract packed. I understand why, it’s an easy way to get products to market without significant outlay. You don’t need to understand how to formulate the products or really even know how they are made; you just call the contract packer and tell them you would like a range of sports nutrition products. Come up with a brand name and hey presto you are a supplement company, anyone could do it.
But to me personally that does not sit comfortably. Sports nutrition is something that’s very specialised, you don’t just throw stuff together. I believe that if you are going to do it you should do it properly or not at all, and that means start to finish.
I literally live and breathe sports nutrition, I know how to run every single piece of machinery in our factory, most of the lines were designed to my own specification to produce better and better protein powders to keep up with the ever improved versions of Instant Whey, not to mention the fact that we also test each and every batch for protein content. In addition we only use the best machinery from beginning to end, and I can tell you that it does make a difference to the finished product. Only the best blenders are capable of mixing hundreds of ingredients to perfection ensuring you receive the best possible multivitamin which has been blister packed on pharmaceutical machinery.
I use supplements daily and have done so for at least 20 years, I train every single day. I’m not slowing down and honestly feel like I’m the best shape of my life. Its stands to reason that with such a commitment to health that I ensure (read guarantee) that Reflex products are the best because I take them every single day. Why would I allow Reflex to do anything other than the best? I don’t, period.
On top of my personal commitment to Reflex I honestly believe that today our team at Reflex Nutrition is the best in the industry by a significant margin. The entire company runs to strict ISO9001 Quality control procedures and is one of only a handful of factories to be registered as an Informed Sport facility, not single products, but the whole site. On top of manufacturing expertise we have a team of highly skilled professionals that have decades of sports nutrition experience ready for you to call upon daily for any questions or help with your goals.
Today when I look at our range I see best in class for each and every product, I keep pushing year on year so you end up with the best sports nutrition products money can buy.
So when I look objectively at what Reflex Nutrition achieves on a daily basis, in terms of manufacturing, customer service and product formulation I can comfortably say we’re still on top…
…and I’m looking forward to seeing Reflex Nutrition at the top for another 20 years, and that emotive desire for perfection? It’s as strong as ever!
P.S Next week I’ll be announcing something that’s been on the cards for 2 years…
